Who we are
This website, wearemissioncontrol.com, is run by Mission Control HQ Ltd (“Mission Control”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales, number 08359045. Our registered office is Unit 24, Vulcan Works, 34-38 Guildhall Road, Northampton NN1 1EW.
We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Questions about it, or about your data, go to hello@wearemissioncontrol.com or the address above. We’ll reply within one month, and usually much faster.
The short version
- We only collect what you give us when you get in touch, plus a small amount of advertising data on our ad landing pages.
- We use it to reply to you, talk about your project and, if we work together, to run that project.
- We never sell your data, and we don’t add you to a mailing list.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time.
What we collect
When you contact us. Our forms ask for your name, email address, company or project name, what you’re building and, on some forms, a rough budget. We also receive anything you choose to include in an email, phone call or meeting.
When you reach us from an advert. If you arrive from a Google, Microsoft (Bing) or LinkedIn advert, our forms record which campaign brought you (UTM tags and Google’s click ID), so we know which adverts are worth paying for.
LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms. If you submit one of our lead forms on LinkedIn, LinkedIn passes us the details shown in that form (typically your name, email address, company and job title). LinkedIn’s own handling of your data is covered by the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
Technical data. Our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to stop spam, which processes information about your device and how you use the page.
We don’t knowingly collect special category data, and our services aren’t aimed at children.
Why we use it
- Replying to your enquiry and preparing a proposal: steps you’ve asked us to take before a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- Delivering a project if we work together: performing our contract with you or your organisation.
- Measuring and improving our advertising: your consent for advertising cookies, and our legitimate interest for the basic, cookieless measurement described below.
- Keeping the site secure and spam-free: our legitimate interest.
- Keeping business and tax records: our legal obligations.
We may follow up on an enquiry you’ve sent us. We won’t send you marketing emails unless you’ve asked for them, and you can tell us to stop at any time.
Cookies and advertising tags
Most of this site sets no cookies at all. We don’t run analytics trackers on our general pages, and our fonts are hosted on our own site. A small number of pages carry advertising tags, and those only use cookies if you say yes:
- Google Ads (Google tag): on our /rescue and /build landing pages and our “thank you” pages, to tell us when an advert led to an enquiry.
- Microsoft Advertising (UET tag): on our /build landing page and its “thank you” page, for the same reason.
- LinkedIn: if we add LinkedIn’s Insight Tag to measure LinkedIn adverts, it will follow the same rules, and we’ll update this policy when we do.
On those pages we ask first. If you choose Accept, Google and Microsoft can set advertising cookies (such as _gcl_au, _uetsid and _uetvid) to match a click on an advert to an enquiry. If you choose Reject, or don’t choose, the tags run in a restricted mode that sets and reads no advertising cookies and only sends basic, cookieless signals (for example, that a page was viewed or a form was sent) which Google and Microsoft may use to estimate how adverts perform overall.
We remember your choice in your browser’s local storage for 12 months, so we don’t ask on every page. Some things are strictly necessary and don’t need consent: Google reCAPTCHA on our contact forms, which blocks spam and processes information about your device to do it, and the record of your cookie choice itself.
Change your cookie settings at any time; withdrawing consent also clears our advertising cookies from your browser. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage ad personalisation in your Google, Microsoft and LinkedIn settings.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions:
- Netlify: hosts this website and receives form submissions.
- Google: email and office tools (Google Workspace), reCAPTCHA and Google Ads.
- Microsoft: Microsoft Advertising.
- LinkedIn: LinkedIn advertising and Lead Gen Forms.
- Software and AI service providers that help us manage email, enquiries and our sales pipeline.
- Our accountants and professional advisers, where needed.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law provides, such as the UK–US Data Bridge or the ICO’s International Data Transfer Agreement and Addendum, so your data stays protected to UK standards.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t become a project: up to two years after our last contact, then deleted.
- Client and project records: for as long as we work together, then up to six years for legal, tax and accounting reasons.
- Advertising data: for the periods set by Google, Microsoft and LinkedIn in their own policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including for direct marketing;
- receive your data in a portable format, where that applies;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, email hello@wearemissioncontrol.com. It’s free, and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping it safe
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the whole site, two-factor authentication on our accounts, and access limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take it seriously. It’s a big part of what we help clients with.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page whenever the way we handle data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
